Army Ghost

I have got to write this down while it is still fresh in my memory. First, a preface to my tale.

On Thursday, November 5, 2009 while working on building a website, I heard the sirens going off at Fort Hood.
At first I thought it was just another drill, but then my brother Bryan called me.
"Turn on your TV!"
"Why? What's up?"
"There's a shooter on the loose at Fort Hood!"
"Are you kidding?"

To make a long story short, a crazed Army psychiatrist, Major Nidal Malik Hasan, walked into a recruiting center
on the base and started shooting while screaming, "Allah Akbar!"
By the time 2 civilian Police Officers took him down, 31 people had been wounded and 13 were dead.
He is paralyzed below the chest and is in need of constant medical care as he awaits his trial.

Cut to: My house. Interior. My bedroom.

I was trying to get to sleep, but it wouldn't come. The night was hot and humid.
I finally dozed off but woke up a couple of hours later with a start.
I suddenly had the feeling that I was no longer alone in my room.
I made a grab for the desk lamp but in my haste to get to it, it fell over and the bulb broke. I cursed!
I looked over towards the bathroom door and standing there was a man in army fatigues.
It was a ghost. His eyes blazed with a fierce anger and a while light.
At first, I was too scared to move. I asked God to protect me and then I felt this strength build inside of me.
I asked the ghost, "Who are you? Why are you here?"
A word came to my brain: "Revenge!"
After a couple of moments, I said, "I'm not the man you are looking for. He is not here."
The ghost slowly began to show that he was confused and in doubt.
I said firmly, "The man you seek is not here. He is in jail awaiting trial."
He seemed to say, "Oh. Sorry."
Then he disappeared.
I sat there in bed absolutely astonished.
Nothing like that has ever happened to me before and I was genuinely frightened.
I hope he is on his way to where he needs to go.
